Public dataset used

The prototype uses a cleaned local CPCB-style sample dataset stored in data/aqi-data.json. It follows common Central Pollution Control Board AQI fields: city, state, AQI, category, PM2.5, PM10, and last updated date.

Cleaning and transformation

Raw city-level records were normalized into consistent city and state names, numeric AQI and pollutant values, CPCB category labels, and ISO date strings. The data is sorted by AQI at render time to produce a clear ranking.

50-word submission note

I selected CPCB-style AQI data because air pollution directly affects daily health, mobility, and municipal priorities. Adding AQI to Neural City rankings helps citizens compare cleaner cities and helps officers identify pollution hotspots, communicate risk, and prioritize interventions using a familiar public metric that updates regularly across Indian urban centers.
